Alan lives in Barrie, Ontario. Originally from the U.K., he moved to Canada in 1989, and has been teaching in the Public School system since then. In England, he completed a 3-year course in caring for mentally challenged people, and also has a Bachelor of Theology degree, which he has found exceptionally helpful in understanding psychological, religious, philosophical, and spiritual concepts. He particularly enjoyed the year long course on counseling.

Alan has always been interested in healing and spirituality, and has been taking courses on various healing modalities over the last few years. He is a Reiki Master/Practitioner, and also offers interactive workshops on various topics, including the Law of Attraction and Manifesting Joy in Your Life. Laughter - the Best Medicine, Contacting Your Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels, and Connecting With the Other Side - and other topics.

He sits on the Board of Directors for the Spiritualist Church of Canada, and the founder of the Spiritualist Society of Barrie. He has been visiting churches in Southern Ontario, Ottawa, Calgary, and LilyDale, N.Y., giving lectures on various aspects of spirituality and, as a practicing medium, bringing through messages from departed loved ones, during the services or in small circles.

He has been with his partner, Mark, since 1992, and they 'tied the knot' in 2006. Mark is also a Reiki Master, and they sometimes work together during healing sessions.
